A day in the life
Goodbye:
- travelling "upstream" on the staircases at Yonge/Sheppard subway
- walking through a field covered in goose poop to get to the office
- working in the vicinity of a mere two good eateries, and two passable ones
- waiting for ridiculously slow elevators every morning
- feeling like a bad person if I'm in at 9:05
- having to pretend like I don't want to drop-kick CFB whenever she talks to me
- having to drop everything to respond to CFB's crazed last-minute requests, when they've been on her schedule for weeks, while she's managing to mix up deadlines
- having 15 days of vacation, of which I'm actually allowed to take one
- working at a career as a full-time keyboard-monkey
- having any attempts at stress-breaking be frowned upon
- elementary school level office politics
- being notably efficient and pro-active, but being treated like an idiot
- being forwarded emails I was an original recipient on
All of which adds up to a much bigger pile of crap than the initial benefits of working here suggested.
Things I'll genuinely miss:
- being able to wear jeans in to work
- the proximity of the Chinese supermarket
- the rare occasions when I got to work with the Art Director
- music playing for all Studio to hear
- Jenn Truong, a true delight to work with, and the only real reason I could justify staying on
